I have been blessed to walk through three of my births with Haven. As both a mother and a doula, I know how sacred, raw, unpredictable, powerful, and at times overwhelming birth can be. And yet there are rare women whose presence brings peace, grounding, and even redemption into the most unpredictable moments of pregnancy, labor, and delivery.

Every midwife and nurse at Haven Birth & Wellness are those rare women.

The entire staff at Haven has been intentionally chosen with a heart for this sacred work—something that was evident from the very first appointment to the final postpartum visit, and even long after my babies were born. The Haven team showed up with intentionality, compassion, and deep love. My husband, children, and I could feel it in every conversation, every check-in, and every prayer spoken over us. They are steady, nurturing, and wholeheartedly invested in both mother and baby.

Haven offered us something far beyond clinical care. They created emotional and spiritual safety. They met every question and concern with wisdom and compassion, prayed with me when there were no words left, and reminded me of the strength I carried when I could no longer feel it myself.

With Haven, I was honored. My story was protected and my fears were met with prayer, presence, and peace—through every known and unknown step of the journey.

I am endlessly grateful for the redemption, confidence, and support Haven has brought into my births. They are truly a gift.

Krystal Cook

My prenatal, birth and postpartum experience with Haven was nothing short of amazing and life changing. I was cared for, listened to, and treated with so much love and respect through every step. During my baby’s birth there was a moment where it seemed we would need to transfer, which was my worst fear, but Lauren responded with prayer, calm, and the knowledge of what to do. I was able to safely stay home and have my son right beside my bed. I had a very traumatic end of pregnancy and birth with my first son, and this birth was such a redemptive gift.

I cannot speak highly enough of the midwives, nurses and all the staff at Haven. They love Jesus, and love the mothers and babies they care for so well.”

Having partnered with Haven through two births, they have seen me at my most vulnerable. Trusting a team to walk with me through the life-changing process of birth was something I did not take lightly. I felt very protective about who we would invite into our home to hold space for such a tender and precious experience. Now on the other side I feel so grateful to have had the Haven Family there with me. The support, compassion, knowledge, and encouragement was exactly what I needed. Through Haven and their beautiful team I was able to have the home birth that I truly desired. My whole entire experience leading up to the birth of my daughter was such a peaceful experience. I felt safe, comfortable and I appreciated that the team was always so present and nurturing with me. I was grateful to have Dawn as my midwife that would be present and guiding me through labor. She brought such a calm presence to the room and I just knew I was in safe hands with her there. I was able to have a beautiful smooth delivery and I owe it all to Haven for strengthening my confidence that I could absolutely have an all natural home birth.”

“Absolutely can’t recommend Haven Birth and Wellness enough! The midwives, nurses and office staff are some of the kindest people I know! Each one takes the time to make you feel heard and cared for! I have used Haven for both my pregnancies and births of my girls. During each visit I received insight on how my baby was, how to support myself/baby in a natural way and any questions I had were always answered in a understanding and through way. Also before I was officially under Haven’s care experienced a miscarriage and the kindness I received from Lauren really made an impact on me. Someone that I hadn’t even met yet cared that much about me and my baby. “I cannot say enough good things about Haven! I started my pregnancy with an OB, and never really thought home birth was something I could or would do. I ended up going for a consult and met Lauren, and her passion for loving and empowering women through pregnancy and birth was astounding. I chose home birth after this consult, and it was truly the best experience! The whole team at Haven are amazing, and it is just a breath of fresh air to go there. We had some real challenges in the end of our pregnancy, and that’s really where we experienced the support on a whole new level. They helped us navigate some real low points, and came to support us at the hospital as well which we are so grateful for. All of the midwives are AMAZING, and we loved how they each had a special role for us in our baby girl’s story. Dawn was there for her birth, and truly helped me keep going when I had pretty much thrown in the towel. She managed some post-birth challenges calmly and with great care. “Navigating pregnancy & birth with Haven was an absolute dream. Every single person I encountered from the receptionists to nurses to midwives were so friendly & actually seemed to care about me as a person. For once I felt listened to & respected in a medical setting. My kids were welcomed at every prenatal appointment & the office was designed to set you at ease. Dawn delivered my child at my home & I can’t imagine a more empathetic & supportive wingwoman for my birth. There was a tense moment towards the end of birth yet Dawn was totally calm, professional & in control. She didn’t make it seem like it was my fault that things went sideways. Thankfully things worked out & I was able to have the birth that I wanted. I truly could not have done it without Haven. “Ahhh, where to even begin. When I got pregnant last year with my first, my husband and I had just moved to Nashville. We had no family, few friends, no community and I honestly felt overwhelmed at the thought of navigating the motherhood journey alone. I found Haven online after a quick “home birth” Google search. “I can't even begin to explain how thankful I am for these women! Haven Birth was the best decision we could have ever made for our family. After reviewing other birthing places and strongly not wanting to have our son in a hospital, we came across Haven Birth. From the moment of our first visit to 6 weeks post partum, we felt confident in their care for us. We had people question our decision of a home birth, but Haven Birth was more evidence-based and safe than I think a hospital would be. They allowed my body to do what it needed to do during labor without further interventions which lead to a happy and healthy baby that my husband got to catch! Trust these people as they have the experience and knowledge to help you. If you are worried about not being in the hospital, these nurses are the first to discuss more aggressive intervention and/or care in the hospital, if needed. My husband and I are both thankful for them!”
