Haven Sick Policy

Illness & Appointment Guidance

Because we care for many pregnant clients and newborns, we’re thoughtful about how we manage illness in the clinic.

Our goal is to continue offering supportive care while being mindful of shared spaces and vulnerable bodies, and the health of our staff.

IV Hydration Appointments

IV hydration can be genuinely helpful when someone is feeling under the weather, and we do not automatically ask clients to cancel IV appointments due to illness.

That said, please let our staff know ahead of time if, in the past 24 hours, you’ve experienced:

  • Non-pregnancy-related vomiting
  • A fever over 100.4°F

If this applies, we’ll simply have you come straight back to a private room rather than spending time in the waiting area. This helps us limit unnecessary exposure for other clients while still offering care when appropriate.

In some cases, depending on symptoms or staffing, we may recommend adjusting or rescheduling your appointment. We’ll always talk this through with you.

Prenatal Appointments & Wellness Visits

For prenatal care and routine visits, we ask that appointments be rescheduled if you’re feeling ill outside or pregnancy related sickness.

If you’re unsure whether your symptoms warrant rescheduling, we encourage you to call and speak with our nurse to talk it through.

Please reach out to reschedule if, within the past 24 hours, you’ve had:

  • A fever over 100.4°F
  • Vomiting unrelated to pregnancy
  • A sudden onset of flu-like symptoms
  • A known contagious illness

We’re happy to help you find the next available visit and will guide you if anything feels time-sensitive or concerning.
